Uniting for Health:
Empowering Slavic Communities to Thrive
Slavic Health Workgroup was established in May 2021. The founding organizations included members from Clark County Public Health Department, DH, Konev Consulting, PeaceHealth and SWACH.
The group came together to address the vaccine hesitancy impacting people from Ukraine, Russia and the Former Soviet Union. The group met bi-monthly to share information about culture-specific COVID-19 outreach across Oregon and Washington.

The Group is Exploring Mutually Beneficial Partnerships in Making This Possible
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine the Slavic Health Workgroup has focused on finding and communicating about resources for newly arrived Ukrainian families.
The next step for this group is to formalize its status as a culture-specific health board in the Willamette-Columbia area.
This will require establishing a board, writing a charter, creating a website, renaming the group, and funding for operations.
